About Martin Wickramasinghe Bibliography

Martin Wickramasinghe was one of the Sri Lankan authors whose work has benefited from international and national recognition and his legacy to the literature and social sciences has always been valued. His work is considered of great quality, modernistic and original. He adopts a critical vision to the society in which he lives but this was not the only thing that brought him wide recognition.

Wickramasinghe showed a great interest in various areas of the natural and social sciences and he had contributed to the development of the Sri Lankan literature. He wrote literature for children, novels, short stories and few drama books. Also, he showed interest in areas such as history, religion, philosophy, travel and even biology. However, the greatest part of his work was devoted to literary criticism, one of the ways he seemed to appreciated best as giving him the opportunity to contribute to the course that the Sri Lankan literature was to follow.
