Museum Of Koggala Location

The memory of Martin Wickramasinghe deserves to be honored at the greatest standards. The Martin Wickramasinghe considered that the best way to do this is by transforming his homeland into a museum. The famous author was born in a rather small, built in a Dutch style architecture house in Koggala. His birthplace meant a lot for the author who chose this location as the space in which most of his novels and writings took place. He was inspired by the flora, fauna and in general by the landscape of the area and this was worth to be conserved. The museum can offer visitors with a grasp of what the life of the great writer has been as well as offer them an opportunity to be in the same place where Wickramasinghe's characters lived their lives. The museum hosts items belonging to the authors and which are sorted in more than 25 categories.
